11:11am - Packard Plant, Detroit
Once I located the Packard Plant, finding good location to park and shoot was more difficult then the last go. Mostly, this was due to local cleanup efforts in the surrounding blocks, in particular what was once an empty field is now a fenced-in lot with heavy industrial city vehicles scattered throughout - the very same making a wide panoramic shot impossible now.
The plant looks the same with the exception of the addition of graffiti on the west side of the “Motor City Industrial Park” bridge. It’s odd to think there are viable businesses on all sides of this decaying beast and I gather there’s storage activity of some variety going on within the guarded gate of the only active entrance I could find. Waiting for an opportunity to park my car in the middle of East Grand so I could shoot a few frames, a guard kept revving his SUV and blaring its horn in a lazy effort to scare me away.
